Abstract
Beerenbroek wrote a detailed account of his trip to Rome, where he was going to spent three years to study. During his journey through Europe, and especially during smaller trips he made during the three years in Rome (he also visited among others Naples), he not only described what he saw, he also made drawings of the places he visited. 39 of those drawings, of which there were definitely more, have survived. A second but non-illustrated copy of the travelogue is kept at Berne Abbey (shelfmark: AvBHS00028), the monastery where Beerenbroek spent part of his life.
